About Shelley

“I have helped people of all ages to achieve health and well-being throughout my career. Born in Vancouver, B.C., my quest in life has been for harmony, or a state of grace, and this has led me to study psychology and sociology, yoga, education, dance, shiatsu, reiki, aikido, consensus and systemic constellation facilitation, and much more. I have worked as an educator and counsellor in schools, community programs, hospitals, treatment centres and homes, and have been a founding partner in a number of successful small businesses, including Sourcepoint Shiatsu and Stress Management Centre, the first licensed shiatsu clinic in Vancouver, B.C. In 1988 I was initiated as reiki master by Phyllis Lei Furumoto, lineage bearer of Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki. I have also traveled widely and lived for a short time in South Africa, broadening my understanding and appreciation of people and all our differences and similarities.

I am a Registered Shiatsu Therapist, with the Shiatsu Therapy Association of B.C. and also a member of The Reiki Alliance and The Cascadia Constellations Community.

Since 1990 I have chosen to make my home with my family on Pender Island, a community of approximately 2400 people, in the waters between Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia. With over 25 years of professional shiatsu and reiki practice, I offer courses and consultation in Vancouver and Victoria. On Pender Island, I coordinate retreats, teach classes and maintain a clinical practice, located in the Pender Island Health Clinic, run by the Pender Island Health Care Society. This clinic  offers traditional western medical care as well as a variety of complementary care and is near the nature conservancy of Medicine Beach on North Pender Island. The beautiful environment of this setting adds a special dimension to my life and practice.”
