~Bowspring is a functional, ergonomic, athletic, and therapeutic practice that aims to maintain your spinal curves and create more balanced harmony within the whole body. It helps to address modern day postural imbalances (such as the C-curve from increased slouching and sitting posture) due to technological advances.
~It is an evolution of modern postural yoga, with poses and posturing based on uniform muscular tone and fascial directionality.
The Bowspring is a postural template that can be applied universally to any yoga pose, athletic movement or any functional posture for optimal performance.

Once upon a time, Elisha flowed to the most powerful yoga rhythms she could find. She began her journey with intense styles of practice, evolved into more creative and fluid forms of yoga as she grew softer and more sensitive, and craved practices that lived outside of the box and rigid confines of movement. Twelve years into her practice, she embarked on attaining her YTT in Costa Rica at Nosara Yoga Institute, where she became qualified to teach both Self Awakening Yoga (SAY) and Vinyasa Yoga.
From Costa Rica, she moved north to teach in Nicaragua for the next two years where she moved around the country and honed her creative potential through thoughtfully sequenced and strong practices and classes.
Upon returning home to Canada, she took a Yoga class in which there was a sprinkling of Bowspring.
The method instantly resonated with her intuition, as it embraced a more curvy, pulsing, engaged practice.
The alignment felt right. Upon finding Bowspring, Elisha was working with some injuries- tight, painful hip flexors as well as the beginnings of a herniated disc at T12/L1 - injuries that were seriously impacting her yoga practice- eliminating back bends, core work, and most warrior poses.
The new alignment intrigued her so much and felt so "primal and rooted" that she began to immerse in the practice.
Within 3 months- her injuries were eliminated and her strength had increased 10 fold.
This was the beginning that had her completely shift her practice.
For the next year- she solely practiced Bowspring and sought out trainings with the founders: Desi Springer and John Friend.
Fast forward 3.5 years- now you will find her teaching Bowspring throughout Victoria at Moksha Yoga Victoria, Steve Nash Fitness World, and Studio 4 Athletics, as well as online Skype/Zoom offerings, and hosting retreats and trainings abroad.
She says, "The proof is in the pudding. This practice has been mind, body, and heart shifting in the most epic way. There is no going back... This new alignment has profoundly impacted the way I move in unimaginably positive ways."
She is inspired by intrinsic knowing, intuition, nature, science, and music- and always keeps classes and trainings light, fun, and informative.
Elisha also works with Wim Hof Method, and is excited to incorporate this breathing, cold exposure, and commitment practice into her Bowspring practice and offerings. "They fit together like peanut butter and jelly."
