DESCRIPTION:November 27\, 2022: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (Pacific time) \nAttend in-person OR virtually. \nRequested Donation: $40.00 or more\, paid through the Vancouver Buddhist Centre website. \nPayment through the Vancouver Buddhist Centre website by November 23 registers you for attendance:  vancouverbuddhistcentre.com \n  \nWe credit a Vancouver TFO for suggesting the central theme for this day retreat\, using inspiration he received from Pema Chodron’s seminal book\, When Things Fall Apart. The primary question for the day: When have you turned toward pain\, discomfort\, fear\, confusion\, and what benefits resulted that would NOT have occurred had you turned away? We likely all have stories of this kind\, when we have\, yes\, heroically\, turned to face our discomfort to find resolution that is both deeper and enduring. Even so\, we can likely tell of times when we have turned away from pain to have it stay with us as an ongoing companion. \nPlease join us for talks by those Training For Ordination and Order Members followed by discussions and meditation. \nIt is by far more convenient to bring your own lunch\, but there are restaurants nearby. Service at one location forced a late afternoon start so please consider which option you’d prefer. \nYou may bring your own cushion and mat if you’d like but there are some at the facility as well.
